A Guide to Diplomas and Special Recognition

Honors Graduate:  Students who have achieved an Honors Diploma have fulfilled all of the high school graduation requirements by completing the highest level of coursework at CLPS.
Character Distinction Graduate: Students who have completed 48 additional community service hours, three weeks of mission trips, and who have been through a formal recommendation, essay and interview process. The purpose of Character Distinction is to recognize students who are building a habit of Christian service to the community and the world. 
Highest Ranking Graduate: An award given by the state of Texas that recognizes the student with the highest GPA. 
Valedictorian: The student with the highest GPA among those who have also achieved an Honors Diploma and Character Distinction. 
Salutatorian: The student with the second highest GPA among those who have also achieved an Honors Diploma and Character Distinction.
