Members of the AHS are musicians, artists, or thespians who desire to enjoy the arts with others, serve their community with their artistic skills, and grow as leaders in our school.

Upper school students who participated or are currently participating in at least one upper school fine arts seasonal course (choir, solo and ensemble, drama production, or art club) may join the Arts Honor Society.

Areas of Focus
  1. Creation: As a fine arts honor society, the AHS is centered on creation and enjoyment of art, music, and theatre. Members may create different things together throughout the year, and we will have several opportunities to enjoy art, music, and theatre in our community by attending concerts, plays, or museums together.
  2. Service: Members will serve the school and broader community with their talents in the fine arts. Members of AHS will have opportunities to participate in service opportunities throughout the school year.
  3. Leadership: Members will also receive leadership training from other leads in the arts. This is a great opportunity to be mentored and be part of a larger community of artistic people. Additionally, members may be eligible to serve in a leadership position within AHS, such as President, Vice President, Historian, and Treasurer)

Incoming juniors Sophie Sutton and William Cronin participated in the National Honor Choir of the Association Classical Christian Schools (ACCS) this summer. After auditioning for a spot in this competitive event, Sophie and William joined other students from ACCS schools around the country to prepare songs to sing at the national ACCS "Repairing the Ruins" Conference in Dallas. This week-long intensive music training helps students grow as singers and musicians while having fellowship with students from around the country.

After the final concert, Sophie Sutton said this about the experience: “It was amazing! I learned so much about my voice and how to use it. Singing with a big group really builds community—I made so many lasting connections. Everyone was so kind and godly, and the Bible studies really impacted how I sang the Scriptures, too. It was absolutely my favorite summer experience!”

William Cronin remarked, "It was an absolute blast! I have never connected to other people so quickly as I did here. Everyone I met had a great heart for the Lord."

The 2024-2025 fine arts year came to a close with a celebration of our wonderful students! Music and drama students in middle and upper schools received awards and recognition for their hard work and dedication. We also honored 9 graduating drama seniors for their exceptional contributions to the CLPS Drama Company.

The upper school drama season culminated in a three-show run of the play Pride and Prejudice at Altamesa Church of Christ. This drama production kicked off at the end of February with our first rehearsals of this beloved play. We had a cast of 28 students putting on a full show at 2 hours and 15 minutes, which is the longest non-musical show we have done at CLPS. Students memorized 72 full pages of dialogue. Rosalie Ernest (Elizabeth Bennet) clocked in the most memorization hours of any student!

The technical aspect of this show was incredibly complex! We had 4 light technicians, 2 sound technicians, and a large group of cast working all the set changes. With 43 sound cues and extremely detailed light cues occurring between 4 light technicians, as well as set changes every few minutes, this show proved how hard-working our technicians are. They brought our show home beautifully.

Their show They Eat Sunshine, Not Zebras competed against four other plays and won the regional championship trophy! Congratulations!

This revue featured students from the lower, middle, and upper schools who have been part of the fine arts program through our music and drama courses.
