The CLPS Fine Arts Department strives to cultivate in the heart of each student a love of beauty, recognizing that our Creator is the source of all beauty. Further, we work in harmony with the other academic disciplines to enrich learning and connect students more intimately with the ideas we are exploring within the context of Western Civilization. Fine Arts teachers aim to teach students to think critically about the ideas and techniques found in art. In our courses, emphasis will be placed on engaging with art throughout history, delving into questions about artists from the past, and creating and performing artistic pieces. Additionally, students will grow in artistic skills through the study of art, music, and drama, and their artistic creations will be shared with the school community through various performances and showcases
MusicCLPS students begin learning music in Kindergarten and have opportunities throughout lower, middle, and upper school to participate in our music program.
Students in lower school are able to participate in recitation and the lower school musical, while our middle and upper school students can sing in choir, play handbells, participate in the school musical, and take solo and ensemble pieces to competitions. |
