Dear Art I Families, Starting this week, Patty, from Deep Space Sparkle, will no longer be doing her Draw and Paint along with Patty. All thirteen of the lessons she held live these last three weeks are still available on www.clpsfamily.com if you did not get to work through all of those. Good News! Patty will be doing a live event each Thursday at 12:00. Just go to https://www.facebook.com/DeepSpaceSparklePage/ each Thursday at noon, or you can do the lesson at your convenience. It is fun to do it live because she talks to the children and there are so many people from all over the world working along with you. One benefit to waiting is you have time to gather your art supplies. Speaking of supplies, I am giving you a link to the paper we use at CLPS. It is the same paper Patty uses. She is good to say, “ Use whatever you have,” but if you can and want, this is great paper:
At this week's pick up, I will be sending home a 1st grade Sketchbook to all of my Art 1 students. I know most of my students are in Kindergarten, but this book is not too advanced for them. It is a twenty-five page book that goes through the twenty-six letters of the alphabet. (They started page 1 with letter B???) Each letter covers some element of art or an artist or a technique. For example, the letter H is Hue, S is for Still Life, T is for Texture, V for Value and W for Well-Known Artist (Paul Klee). If you look up (Google) the things you are not sure of I think most of the other things are self explanatory. You can always email me as well:) Like the first sketchbook you received, this is just for your benefit and does not need to be turned in.
Suggestion: Keep the sketchbook as something special and just do one page at a time. That way, maybe they will take their time, do their best and will have something very special to look at when they are finished.
One more thing, I know you are very busy, but I would love to hear from you. Did you attempt any of Patty’s lessons? If so, did you do any of them live? I would also love to see pictures of the kids art work:) I was able to paint the sea turtle and the rabbit with my family. Missing my little artists, Lisa Ernest
