7th -12th Grade First Day of School

  1. PRINT YOUR SCHEDULE BEFORE COMING TO SCHOOL. 
  2. The schedule will be modified! Students will need to attend classes according to the attached schedule. 
  3. Pack a lunch. 
    1. No items will be for sale
    2. Microwaves are not available.
  4. Students need to bring a backpack to receive textbooks. 
    1. Water bottles are allowed in class but no other drinks or any food/candy.
    2. Bring basics like a binder, loose leaf paper and a few pencils.
    3. 8th-12th graders- Don’t forget your TI-Nspire Calculator 
  5. The first day of school is House Spirit Day and so students can wear out of uniform bottoms (see dress rules below)
    1. Parents of returning 8-12th graders will pick up house shirts at Meet the Teacher.
    2. 7th graders and New 8-12th students will receive their House Shirts when they are “sorted” (picked for a house)  after lunch.
      1.  It is sometimes easiest to wear a simple t- shirt that they can pull their house shirt over so they don’t have to wait in a socially distanced line for the bathroom to change. 
      2. 7th graders may not wear a sibling’s old house shirt. They must wait to be sorted. 
    3. Everyone should wear this year’s new shirt on the first day. Students can wear vintage house shirts on subsequent House Battle Days. 
    4. House shirts must be visible during house events. They may not be covered with outerwear. 
  6. Masks are optional but must follow guidelines:
    1. Solid or patterns are okay
    2. No text on masks
  7. Friday, August 28 is also an Out of Uniform day! Follow the guidelines below.

Morning Procedures: 
Students will leave their cars to walk into the gym at 8:15 am.
Students will be directed to sit with their first period class, socially distanced from other cohorts.
Staff will welcome students back to school and give instructions for social distanced passing periods.
​Students will then be dismissed with their teacher to attend first period. 

The first day of school has an altered schedule to allow ample time for passing periods. This will not be the regular schedule for the school year. 

​House events will occur during lunch and will be socially distanced by cohorts. 
Out of Uniform Dress Code Guidelines:
WEAR NEW HOUSE SHIRTS FIRST DAY
Modesty is expected
Clothing must reach mid-knee
No tight-fitting skinny jeans (please use discernment)
Leggings may not be worn as pants
Closed toed shoes only 
No sleeveless shirts
No shoes with heel over 1 inch
No hats or beanies
No transparent clothing
No clothing with inappropriate emblem, insignia, wording or picture
No clothing that is torn or has holes
