National Honor Society Induction Guidelines

National Honor Society recognizes 10-12th grade students who excel in 4 areas: academics, leadership, service, and character. At CLPS, the academic requirement is a minimum 90 weighted grade average for high school level classes. To be invited to NHS, a student must be enrolled currently in at least 3 core subjects or 2 core plus either language or Biblical Worldview. A student must also have been enrolled at CLPS the previous semester.

Once a student meets the academic requirement and the enrollment requirements, he or she is invited to submit an activity form in which the student lists their leadership and service experiences. This activity form is reviewed by our faculty council--5 high school teachers at CLPS. This faculty council also discusses the student's character qualifications and any prior behavior issues. The council then votes on which students will be invited to membership. Students can opt out at any time during this process.
