Lower School Stock Show Art Competition For grades K-1
Description: This art course will provide an opportunity for students to create and compete in the local Stock Show art contest with peers from the Fort Worth community. In this course, students will create pieces to submit to the competition. The focus of the artwork is traditional, abstract, realism, contemporary, or impressionism styles that depict or express the culture of Texas and western environments, both contemporary and historical.
Schedule: August 14-September 18 (Mondays only from 3:00-3:30)

Description: This course is designed to teach students a basic understanding of acting and theatrical production through hands-on experience. By the end of the course, students are expected to demonstrate a mastery of a variety of forms of acting through a performance. Activities will include vocal exercises, drama games, technical design, audition skills, and trying a variety of dramatic forms.
Grading: This is a Pass/Fail course. Student grades will be determined by Participation (75%) and Performance (25%).
Schedule: August 14-September 16 (Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 3:00-4:00)
Fall Drama Production (Stage Actor) For grades 6-12
Description: Students will audition for an acting role. If cast, they will be enrolled in this course for the duration of the rehearsal and performance schedule. Students will learn acting techniques and blocking, and the course will culminate in community performances of the production.
Grading: This is a Pass/Fail course. Student grades will be determined by Participation (75%) and Performance (25%).
Auditions: September 18, 20, and 22 from 3:00-4:00 pm
Rehearsal Schedule: September 25-November 17 (Weeks 1-4: MWF from 3:00-4:00; Weeks 5-7 MTWThF extended rehearsals)
Credits Earned: 2 (for students in grades 9-12)

Description: Students interested in being a technician may apply for any of the following technical production roles: Sound Design, Lighting Design, Set Design, and Stage Management. If selected, they will be enrolled in this course for the duration of the technical rehearsal and performance schedule. Students will learn how to design sounds and lights, create sets and props, and manage various aspects of the stage. This course will culminate in community performances of the production.
Grading: This is a Pass/Fail course. Student grades will be determined by Participation (75%) and Performance (25%).

Spring 2024 Seasonal Music Courses
TAPPS High School Solo and Ensemble For grades 9-12
Description: Students may participate in this course in one or more of the following ways: 1) As a vocal or instrumental soloist, and/or 2) as part of a vocal or instrumental ensemble. Instrumentalists should already know how to play their instruments. This course is a mixture of on-campus rehearsals and at-home practice that students will track via a practice log. Students will practice their solos or ensemble parts at home and also meet once a week on-campus under the supervision of the teacher. This course will culminate at the TAPPS Solo and Ensemble competition where students will play for judges and receive feedback and awards.
Grading: This is a Pass/Fail course. Student grades will be determined by Participation (75%) and Performance (25%).
