International Thespian Society
Troupe #8275 of Christian Life Preparatory School

The International Thespian Society is the only theatre honor society for middle and high school students in the United States. Affiliation brings credibility and distinction to students, theatre programs, and schools. It is a visible, positive symbol of the quality of your theatre program.

ITS recognizes, rewards, and encourages student achievement and celebrates the work of students in all aspects of theatre – performance and production. Each student is honored on a national level and gains access to opportunities and resources beyond those of their school.

What is the International Thespian Society?

The International Thespian Society (ITS), founded in 1929, is an honorary organization for high school and middle school theatre students located at more than 4,200 affiliated secondary schools across America, Canada, and abroad. The mission of ITS is to honor student achievement in the theatre arts. High school inductees are known as Thespians and junior high/middle school inductees are known as Junior Thespians. ITS is a division of the Educational Theatre Association (EdTA).

Honors and Distinctions
Students inducted into the International Thespian Society are eligible for honor distinction, scholarship opportunities, leadership opportunities and graduation recognition and specialized graduation regalia, including cords. ITS patches will be given to Thespians who also earn a letter in Drama to be applied to Letterman jackets.

Membership

Picture
Membership is granted to any students who earn 10 Thespian Points. These points can be earned at CLPS or in the community through church theater productions, camps, community theater, professional theater by being involved in a production or even supporting the arts as an audience member. See points below to record points.

An induction ceremony will be held each spring. You will be sent an invitation to this event when you have earned 10 Thespian points.

Submitting Activities for Points

Points may be submitted at any time. However, points are usually only tallied in the spring as we approach International Thespian Society Induction or the need to award other honors, such as letterman patches.
